Postcards from NFR 2012: Big Stakes In Barrel Racing

It’s that time of year again: The Wrangler National Finals Rodeo has taken over Las Vegas and runs until December 15th, with daily rodeo action, live entertainment, FanFest 2012, the Cowboy Christmas Gift Show, and much more.

Our chief rodeo correspondent, former Miss Rodeo America and Texas Cowboy Hall of Famer Pam Minick, will be checking in with occasional updates from NFR.

Pam Minick co-hosted the Women's Professional Rodeo Association Star Luncheon with famed rodeo announcer Hadley Barrett.

Meeting the Cream of the Crop

It was fun interviewing the top 15 barrel racers at Thursday's Women's Professional Rodeo Association Star Luncheon. Enjoyed hearing the competitors' strategies for the first go-round. Brittany Pozzi is in the lead for the world, but with a $17,000 payday for first place in each round, that can change. Still, her horse "Duke" was voted by the contestants as the horse with the most heart.

(Ed. note: Keep track of daily results from NFR events here.)
