There's A New Sheriff In Town: Arnold Schwarzenegger
Former California governor and Cowboys & Indians cover guy Arnold Schwarzenegger is back in action this weekend alongside Sylvester Stallone, Bruce Willis and other action-movie heavyweights in The Expendables 2. But it won’t be long before we see Big Arnie again in his very own starring vehicle: The Last Stand, a Jan. 18, 2013, release described as a modern-day western about a border-town sheriff who stands up to a Mexican drug cartel.
It’s the first English-language movie directed by South Korean filmmaker Kim Jee-woon – who impressed art-house audiences with his distinctive version of a Sergio Leone western, The Good, the Bad, the Weird -- and features a supporting cast that includes Zach Gilford (of TV’s Friday Night Lights), Rodrigo Santoro, Johnny Knoxville and Oscar winner Forest Whitaker.
