Unexpected emotions nearly got the best of us while putting together this playlist, which speaks to the power of Willie Nelson. In particular, it's his voice, one of the most important and recognizable sounds in music.
Today, Willie turns 79 and, to our benefit, he's still going strong. His new album Heroes hits stores next week.
The Spotify playlist we've got for you honors ol' Willie with some of the most popular and lasting songs of his long career. But, again, the song selections themselves don't seem nearly as important as that voice. An hour of Willie Nelson makes any given day better. Happy birthday to the man.
