The shindig is bringing together a slew of the barbecue joints that define the golden age of the Lone Star State’s smoked-meat tradition.
Texas barbecue has never been better. And Smoked BBQ Fest Dallas is bringing together a slew of the barbecue joints that define the golden age of the Lone Star State’s smoked-meat tradition. The lineup includes Cattleack Barbeque, Kruez Market, Louie Mueller Barbecue, and Zavala’s Barbecue. The fifth annual event will be held Saturday, September 22, at Main Street Garden Park, once again benefiting restaurant-culinary training facility for at-risk youth Café Momentum in Dallas.
Serving up tunes to match the Smoked Dallas pitmasters’ barbecue will be Eleven Hundred Springs, Mike and The Moonpies, and Dean Fearing and The Lost Coyote Band. Other highlights include the Trailer Park Olympics featuring armadillo races, a mechanical bull, and more.
This year marks Smoked’s expansion to Fort Worth, where the festival will take place Saturday, October 13, in front of the Livestock Exchange Building at the historic Fort Worth Stockyards. The festival will benefit Cops for Kids in Fort Worth.
The brisket, ribs, and sausage of such heavyweights as Black’s BBQ, Heim Barbecue, Tyler’s Barbecue, and Meat Church will be paired with the musical talents of Adam Hood, The Vandoliers, and Brandon Steadman. Charlie J. Memphis, Simon Flory, Chris Erickson, and Joshua Ray Walker will be among the up-and-coming Texas acts showcased on stage.
